Christmas video and updates

I tried to take the annual Christmas pictures this year, but the herd decided they’d rather play with the hats and antlers than wear them. Everybody had a good time though!

I haven’t really been doing much training or riding recently, but I have been working on one very important thing – I’ve been learning to trim Natty’s hooves myself so she doesn’t have to go through the stress of having the professional farrier come out and the vet sedate her heavily. I’m happy to report this week was the first time the farrier came out and only had to do Chance, meaning no drugs and minimal stress for Natty. She even let him look at one foot and take off a little bit I’ve been struggling with, and this is the first time she’s let him even LOOK without drugs on board, so I’m very proud of her. I need to get faster before I’ll attempt to tackle Chance too because this has really taken all my horse time in the last couple of months. Here are some progress pictures: the first one is from August, then there is one from mid-November, then one from this week. She’s looking better and better!

I forgot to add this picture earlier – not the most flattering angle, but check out the heights! You can see how much taller Chance is now.
